2 down 1 to go

We made it through surgery today. Payton did very well and is sleeping comfortably, thanks to the pain medication. Dr Anderson said everything went as planned and we hope that continues through recovery! Here is Payton coming out of the PACU, pediatric anethesia care unit, where he was after the operation. He's such a brave little guy! And so Cute!!!

We will be in the hospital for at least the weekend and on Monday we will have the stoma nurse show us how to take care of and change the bag on the colostomy. We will have to care for the stoma for 3-6 months, then we will return to the hospital for the pull-thru surgery, this is when they will remove part of the intestine and pull the good stuff down to the anal cavity. We do have to come back in about 4 weeks to have the surgen check on things.

Some fun news is Payton recieved his first doll! It has the same condition as he does and I'm sure the girls will have tons of fun with this! Payton's Stoma is in the same spot as the doll and has a bag like the doll, I'm sure no one wanted to see a picture of the real thing!

We are so glad to hear everything went well! Payton is lucky getting morphine and that doll. Rob hasn't ever gotten a doll. I'm going to ask next week for that =) Thanks for keeping this blog. It's very nice to have updates.

Hey Julie. I am glad Payton is doing well. That's cool that he got a doll too. He's looks so cute in the picture (I am talking about Payton, not the doll). Hopefully he'll have a smooth recovery.
