Christmas Traditions

We have many traditions we do each year to get ready for Christmas.
We get a Tree! We always get a real tree, usually we cut one down at a tree farm but this year we just went to a lot. It was the first really heavy snow fall!

After we picked the one we wanted we went to dinner, then picked up the tree that night.
Then we have to decorate it! We have had two trees the last few years, one for me and one for the kids. This year we (I mean "I") didn't want to change that tradition so again we have two, one in the kitchen and one in the living room.

Here's the kitchen one!

Here's the living room one!

We have started a collection of the Department 56 Dickens Village, thanks to the wonderful memories of Mom and Dad having one.

Here is ours this year.

We like to watch the good ol' favorite Christmas shows: Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, Here comes Santa Clause, The Grinch, and of course ELF!

We have to visit with Santa too! We've seen him 3 times this year and plan on seeing him one more! I know that's crazy but we love it, at least the girls have kept their list the same each time!!
This is at our church breakfast with Santa.
There are a few more traditions still to come so keep checking in!

Looks like you have had fun getting ready for Christmas. I love your village. I decided one year that I was going to start collecting a village. Guess how many houses I have...One! Maybe I need to start up that tradition again! Love your trees too! -Kris
