So being the horrible father that I am I failed through the long post to mention that Brydie also celebrated her 5th birthday. She actually likes to say she had two birthdays, one on Thursday and another on Saturday.
Baylie and Bryndie have become quite the Hannah Montana fans. On Thursday Julie and I decided to surprise both of them with tickets to the Hannah Montana movie concert. Well this was also the day that Payton was admitted so it ended up being quite interesting as I sat at the Hospital while Julie took the girls to the movie concert. After the movie Bryndie got to pick where she wanted to go for dinner. She picked Subway, 6” turkey with extra, extra pickles.
On Saturday Bryndie had a party with a couple of friends. This year she went with a Wizard of Oz them and Julie went all out. We even had a yellow brick road in the home (Hey les, the only thing we were missing was the Pink Floyd CD). There was a number of different games like melt the witch and pin the heart on the tin man. All of this of course lead to the Emerald City/Green cake castle. Because I was unable to attend the party with Payton in the hospital I got the opportunity to go through it all that night as Baylie and Bryndie walked me through each game when I got home.
Later that night to make sure that Payton was included on the festivities we asked Bryndie if she was alright with opening her gifts from Mom, Dad and Baylie at the Hospital. Being the good big sister she is, she of course said yes. All the nursery were impressed with the cool gifts she got and had a fun time wishing her a happy b-day.
For everything that has gone for the past couple of days/weeks/months I can't say how lucky we are to have such a great Pediatrician and Children’s Hospital by us. Every person here has been extremely welcoming and nice to us. With all the stress and anxiety this puts on you, it's nice having people like this around to cheer us up at times.
